POSITION SUMMARY:

TScan Therapeutics is a startup biotech seeking to revolutionize life-changing therapeutics for patients by identifying novel T cells and epitopes. We are looking for an experienced researcher to join our team as Research Associate or Senior Research Associate, supporting our novel TCR discovery workflow in house. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in T cell immunology, cancer cell culture and flow cytometry, and enjoy fast-paced, collaborative, and vibrant startup culture. A team player with a willingness to learn will thrive in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage and innovate on large-scale in vitro immune cell screening efforts to discover novel TCRs for therapeutic development.
• Evaluate and nominate candidate TCRs for preclinical development.
• Engineer T cells to express TCRs of interest using lentiviruses or transposons and perform TCR expression analysis by flow cytometry.
• Engineer cancer cell lines to express or knock out target antigen. Routine cell line maintenance.
• Engage in efforts to discover novel TCR antigens using the TScan platform.
• Perform immune cell assays such as tumor cell killing, cytokine production and T cell proliferation.
• Isolate primary immune cells from blood products such as leukopaks.
• Analyze data, make figures for presentation, and present at group and company meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. with 0-5 or M.S. with 0-2 years of experience in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
• Experience in T cell immunology, understanding of cancer biology and molecular biology a plus.
• Proficiency in tissue culture, cell engineering, and flow cytometry is preferred, experience with ELISA and cytotoxicity assays using Incucyte desired.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), attention to detail, and ability to work in a matrix environment. Experience presenting in team meetings or conferences a plus.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new techniques, participate in team Journal Club and work in a fast-paced environment.
